West Benzie Joint Planning Commission
This Board meets at the Benzonia Township Hall, 1020 Michigan Ave., Benzonia, on the 1st Thursday of the “even” months at 7pm (Feb, April, June, Aug, Oct, and Dec). Our Township representatives to the WBJPC are Robin Talsma and Matt Wieber. The Township’s Zoning Board of Appeals members are our own residents: Paul Gerhart, Bob Michalak, and Matt Weiber. Although our township grows slowly, we are seeing vacant land parcels being improved to residential use. Residents can help the Zoning Administrator and the Board by reporting any changes so we may ensure the permitting process is followed. And don’t forget to welcome our new residents in our unique Platte Township way!
The board wishes to thank our residents for their continued support to manage the township’s business. At any time, please feel free to contact your board to share your input and suggestions for the continued success of Platte Township.
The Township Board would like to thank the efforts of our election inspectors for their tireless effort in administering the elections the last couple of years.
Clerk’s Deputy Moly Franks, Gina Solem, Germaine Schmidt, Tom Mountz, Colin Bohash, Carolyn Pelky, and Ruth Hovland,
These inspectors have ensured the integrity of the voting process is secure .and administered correctly according to State Election Laws. Any registered voter is eligible to become an election inspector. If interested, PLEASE contact Alison. It is a great way to connect with our residents. Certification is scheduled for July, 2020.
The Platte Township Board would like to thank all residents for coming to the meetings this past year. We have tackled some very important issues and can only assume that there will be more issues to be carefully thought out in order to do what is best for our Township.
